Tony Finau was born on September 14, 1989, in Salt Lake,
Utah, to Kelepi Finau (father) and Raven Finau (mother). He grew up in a family
that struggled greatly with financial conditions as he grew up with six
siblings - Gipper Finau, Kaylene Finau, Heilala Finau, Kelven Finau, Pianola
Finau, and Tevita Finau. His father did not have much money, he worked in cemeteries.
Kelepi loved his children and made sure they didn't have to suffer from a lack
of money. He bought used equipment and also built a makeshift training center
in the garage where his children could practice golf. Tony's mother was also
very supportive of him, but unfortunately, she died in a car accident. He went
to West High School and became a professional golfer while studying.
