Fred Kerley was born on May 7, 1995, in Taylor, Texas, United
States, where he grew up all his life. His mother's name is Virginia Kerley and
his father is Ricky Kerley. He was raised outside of Austin in harsh conditions
with 12 other cousins by his aunt Virginia Kerley, as his legal mother and
aunt [by name] Virginia adopted him at the age of 2, along with his siblings -
Mylik Kerley, Virginia Kerley, Demaree Kerley. During this time, Fred's
biological father was sentenced to prison, and his biological mother left him
alone and went to a place that no one is aware of.
His younger biological brother Malik is also the best 400m
sprinter and ran the relay race with him at Texas A&M University. His older
brother Demaree also sprinted and competed in high school jumping while his

and later joined his youth team to become College Station sprinters at College

In June 2017, Kerley won 400m at the USATF Championship with a record time of 44.03 seconds. He first tried to qualify for the United States in both the 400 m and 4 × 400 m relay at the World Athletics Championships. After winning the run, he finished third in his semi-finals but qualified for the finals on time.
