Gia
Sandhu is an Indian-Canadian actress who has gained wide popularity thanks to
several roles in films such as The Lost Symbol (2021), The Mysterious Benedict
Society (2021), and many other Canadian films in which she appeared in
2015-2018. Gia has appeared in various films and shows and has also appeared
in theaters and television screens. Some of her best films include The Moth
Diaries, Beeba Boys, and A Perfect Plan. In May 2022, she rose to fame for her
lead role in the upcoming movie Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

Sandhu was born in 1991 in Toronto, Canada to an Indian (Punjabi) and Canadian
mother. A few years after her birth, her parents moved to India and stayed in
Punjab until Gia was around 6 years old. Sandhu went to a kindergarten in
Punjab and later returned to Canada, where Gia had a hard time surviving
because she had all her friends there in Punjab, India.
After
Gia's father came to Canada, he started working in a publishing company, he was
also a lover of English literature. So the house remained full of books on
literature and most of the best novels. This led Gia to become interested in
reading books, especially reading Shakespeare's plays. She began to have
aspirations of becoming an actress and working in the theatre after that.
She
was educated at the first and respected National Theater School of Canada
(NTS), where she was placed among the 12 students selected for training in the
theater program. Upon graduation, she got her first feature film, which later
premiered at the Venice International Film Festival and the Toronto
International Film Festival (TIFF).
She
was one of 8 selected actresses who had the opportunity to study at the
Canadian Film Center (CFC), where she graduated from the Acting Conservatory.
In
2022, Gia landed the lead role in the science fiction series Strange New
Worlds, in which she played the character of T'Pring. Strange New Worlds is the
sequel to the original Star Trek: The Original Series. Despite this, she also
appeared in Bollywood films, where Randeep Hood starred in the movie Beeba
Boys. Even so, she has appeared in two other films, including Oath Theft and
The Alternatives - both films that are yet to be released and yet to be
announced.
The
first role Gia played in her career was as Samara in the TV miniseries entitled
Phlebotomy and the Miracle Cures. Her appearance on that show was for one show
only, but she managed to make a good performance for the character.
The
following year, she became part of another series, the Craig Silverstein show,
in which she played a small role in the character of Nikita. She appeared in
various Bollywood, Hollywood, and television series with multiple roles from
2011 to 2022. She has starred in various films such as "The Perfect
Plan", "Curry Western" and "A Simple Favor."
Nevertheless, she starred in the Randeep Hood movie, in which she played Choti
Grewal.
Gia
Sandhu also played one of the main characters in the Disney series entitled The
Mysterious Benedict Society, in which she played the role of Mrs. Perumal.
After a special appearance on a Disney show, she received praise, which marked
her beginning with dramas and TV series.
Gia made no commitments to anyone
romantically. Either she hides details of her past relationship from the media,
or she is seriously unrelated to anyone in the industry. She is also known to
be very social with her friends, including both boys and girls, which she often
posts on her Instagram feed.
