Sergey Brin was born on August 21, 1973 in Moscow, the Soviet Union, to a Jewish family. His father, Mikhail Brin, is a retired professor of mathematics at one of the renowned universities, the University of Maryland. Eugenia Brin, his mother, is a scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. Sergei and his family later immigrated to Vienna. They struggled with hardships and difficulties when moving to a new place.

studied math and Russia at home. He then attended Eleanor Roosevelt High School
in Maryland for high school education from 1987-1990. Sergey went to the
University of Maryland, where he earned a Bachelor of Science from the
Department of Computer Science from 1990 to 1993. In addition, he joined
Stanford University and completed postgraduate studies in computer science in
1993-1995.
Sergey began his career with an internship at Wolfram Research. But the main goal of his career is to develop the search engine - Google. He met Larry Page at Stanford University and they began to understand the PageRank algorithm which helped them build a search engine because the algorithm was based on a new technology. They created a search engine that sort’s websites based on popularity. In 1996, they founded the search engine "BackRub". By 1996, BackRub had 207,022 GB of content downloaded.
In 1997, they finally signed up as Google, deriving the word Google from "Googol" which means a very large number with 100 zeros behind it. Later, in 2005, due to Google requirements, Sergey and Page formed the Alphabet Inc holding company and both left their positions in December 2019. The company was founded in 1998 in California's Silicon Valley. They made their initial public offering in August 2004, and Google has become the most popular search engine in the world. Google was so successful that it bought YouTube for $ 1.65 billion. Aside from his engineering career, he was also seen in a cameo role in the 2013 film Internship.
He was one of the top 100 innovators in the world under the age of 35, as mentioned in the MIT Technology Review in 2002. In 2004, both founders received the highest award in the field of engineering, the Marconi Foundation Award, and became part of the Marconi Foundation for Colombia. Brin married Anne Wójcicki,(The sister of You Tube CEO Susan Wójcicki) founder of the 23andme website dealing with DNA testing for consumers. They gave birth to two children - Benji and Chloe in 2008 and 2011 respectively. But after 4 years, in 2015, they filed for divorce. Three years later, Brin married Nicole Shanahan, a law professor and patent office. He also had a daughter with his second wife in 2018. Recently, some reports suggest that the couple have filed for divorce.
Sergey Brin is the 8th richest person in the world. Most of his income comes from his stake in Alphabet. His fortune is $ 91.4 billion. His fortune is said to have exceeded $ 100 million.
He obtained American citizenship in 1979. More recently, Sergey made headlines due to an alleged split with Elon Musk. He is one of the company's two largest individual shareholders. In 2005, he and his co-founder set his salary at one dollar a year with no other benefits.
